It's a Sunday afternoon. I'm suppose to be out but I'm home taking care of the family. For once I feel manly. Let me feed my ego for the next five minutes............. Okay times out. Now I just feel that I should talk about serious issues here.
Bought a copy of the Sunday Times and this is what I found.
Would you still take taxis if a fuel surcharge was imposed?
This demands an answer.
Yes and no. Yes if I'm forced to and no if there are other modes of transportation available for me to take. I think its ridiculous to have a fuel surcharge. It's already an expensive transportation and taxi drivers are having a big problem trying to make a living with a rise in their rental rates, petrol prices and if there was a surcharge imposed on passengers, probably 30% of their loyal customers would think twice about taking the taxi.
Let's put it this way, taxis are the most fastest mode of transport around Singapore. But with speed, of course there is a price. But we all think they make alot of money but in fact its really a hard job. Everyday, they need at least $95 to pay their rental. So let's assume a trip cost $10
a trip - $10
they need 10 trips to make $100
so lets assume it takes 15 minutes for each trip
so 10 trip makes it 150 minutes which is equivalent to 2 hours plus plus.
so now lets assume they take 20 minutes each time to find a passenger.
so that's 200 minutes which is equivalent to 3 hours plus plus.
so 6 hours plus plus is wasted making money for rental and getting customers.
and put in 2 hours of break so in a day, that makes 8 hours of work. But you see, in order to get back that money they need to go back to formula one and clock in another 6 hours. Oh and let's not forget diesel which has also risen and ERP.
So let's all do taxi drivers a favour and not add in more to their misery. Get rid of a surcharge and just take a cab if you have to..

To whom is reading this post,I know i said i wouldnt blog anymore but yeah well i've got utterly nothing to do. So bear with me. Please and thank you.
This ladies and gentlemen and those reading this post is my new house. I know that it may look like a shop but to some, especially those in the picture it is a 2 star hotel. This hotel or rather my home specializes is Chapati for breakfast and masalah tea for all occasions. The flies, stray dogs and sometimes cattle are frequent visitors of this place. They love walking in mud and licking off stones which appear to be scraps of food.
Life here so far has been rather sweet. The people are nice although they tend to forget to shower at times. Nonetheless, they smile and laugh it off with a big sip of masalah tea. The children play happily just like any of us, barefooted, rolling in the mud and once in awhile, they pat the stray dogs.
Sadly, I had to check out of my home as the my rent paid off. I wish I could come back some day though. Just to have a cup of tea with these people. To shake their coarse hands. To see how the men's beard's curl up with the smile.
And mostly importantly, to see how happy their are living in the middle of now where. With no proper water, sanitation and even a proper clothing. And lastly, to thank them for making me stay worthwhile.

This in the other hand is not a silver man but a silver robot. This is found in school all thanks to Colin and JohnBoy. I'm not too sure who gave the idea but sure hell is freaky. That (please don't ask me what that is) by the way is suppose to be the robot's arm.
This sign was spotted at the Expo. So girls, next time throw whatever you need to throw in the proper bins. We don't need chokes happening during moments when other girls need the toilet urgently.

So like I said another day, so here is what happened next.
The rain died down and so the group headed on to the bicycle shop to rent bicycles of course. Now, don't think its Ubin means you get low quality bikes. Indeed there was a sign which said new imported BIKES!

And so it continued but due to the bad weather, I never did get to take better pictures. We will just stick to this.

Mum asked
"eh want to go Ubin with the parent volunteers?". I thought twice about it but ended up going cause I wanted to accompany my mum. So here is my picture journal.
The time was 6 am. I had to wake up at 5 am just to pack my stuff which I was suppose to pack the day before.
Mum slept in the bus too.
We reached around 7 am only to find out that the bum boat towards Ubin will reach only in about an hour's time. So pictures are the best remedy for a long wait.

So the bum boats came along and I swore I was super afraid. Why? Cause I have super bad motion sickness. Turned out that the trip to Ubin via boat was super fine. Amazing indeed. So I took pictures while I was on it.
This is half the team. Yes, we were seperated into teams for the games later on.

So it started to rain heavily when we reached so the raincoats came in handy.

So play 2 solid laughing games and that would be just nice for a darling couple. And the PRICE? $7.00 including the shoe rental!
Romantic timeSo you're left with $8.00 left. You're probably hungry and you need to head on somewhere else but before you do, grab a McFlurry each and take a slow walk to nowhere. Get yourselves tired and find the nearest 7-11 around you. Grab a big gulp, sit down and just talk about anything and everything. By the time the big gulp finishes, you both probably need to head home to have dinner with the family. So that my friend ends your date. You still can bring back about $4.00 and next time, I'll tell you a $10 date.
