I was reading
Cleo magazine with my girlfriend the other day. No, actually she was reading it, I merely answered her questions. It was this
'Finding Mr Right' column that she found really interesting. There were different types of
'Mr Rights' out there apparently. Off hand, I could name a few.
Mr Talented,
Mr Popular,
Mr.... Okay, I kind of forgotten the
types but I think you know what I mean. The point is, do girls need to find the right
type so that they will live happily
never after? I mean, well yeah, we all have our own
little preferences but
classifying men
(or women) into such categories wouldn't sound nice. The thing is, people might want to be classified in a category they think may attract the opposite sex and thus leading to more people being untrue to themselves. Now do you see the
chain reaction? If you're asking me about why I'm bringing up such a topic, to be
honest, I don't know. It just crossed my mind
10 minutes ago and I thought it was pretty cool.
Okay, another point, which I just thought of after finishing the previous point, why are RP students
not supportive of the things that are being organized by the school? Like for example,
Dance Night 06. Only a handful of students turned up and the people who turned up are the friends of the performers for the night. I came up with this theory of mine. Its just an idea. May be right, may be wrong but still, its the idea that counts. You got to read this carefully, cause I don't want
any form of misunderstanding or whatsoever. Yeah right.
Fug whatever you want to think lah.
Lets compare it with Temasek Polytechnic. I attended their Jam & Hop event 2 years back. Jam & Hop is something like a night where the school throws a party for the students and also secondary students who intend to come toTemasek to study. The idea is to get the kids excited about coming to Temasek. The thing is, their students really know how to throw a party. The crowd was
good, the band were not really magnificent but
tolerable and the whole
feel is like as though you're attending a rock concert which you paid $50 for. But if you came for something done by RP, err... I don't want to say so much.
See, RP students were
raised in such a way that there is
maximized interaction between all students. When I say
maximized, I mean really
maximized to the extend you know half the school's population. Okay, I exaggerated that point but you get my drift. All the students are placed in the same common modules in the first year and the schools
(SEG, STA, etc) are clustered with each other. There is no such block called the STA block or the SIT block. Good thing is, we get to know people of the different
species. Bad thing is, we get to know people of the
different species. There's nothing to look
forward to!
There's always this stereotyping when it comes to the students in the schools. Like for example, all the foreigners will be in the engineering course while all the cool
arseholes are in the media schools.
Off the records, not all the students in the media faculty are cool. Trust me, they can be real pain in the asses some times.
Stereotyping is okay cause its just used to categorised people. Its usually the common things that they share that brought about this whole stereotyping business. Like, people who wear tapered jeans are
Mats. Well, yeah it is true cause
Mats do wear tapered jeans but not all of them are. It can be harmful if used wrongly and I am not going to show an example. This ain't no class. But do read up on it. I feel like as though I am educating children. But besides the whole stereotyping thing, back to where we started. So inTP , they say that all the hot chicks are from the Business School. And when they say hot, they do mean it. I don't know how true this is but its what they told me. They even try their hands on getting their numbers. That's how hot they thing the girls are in that school.
They don't get to see the girls on a regular basis.
RP is the only polytechnic who has a common timetable for the kids. So they have to find a time to watch this girls come in and out of their schools. Their school plans it in such a way that the traffic flow is constant and there will not be any human jams.
Now I'm wondering how 8000 students are coming to RP when the new semester starts. So, events such as Jam and Hop is the only time when the students get to see their other school mates. Do you get the whole picture now? That's why the students are supportive of their events. Don't talk to me about numbers here. If you're talking about numbers, RP has the least but shouldn't it be more easier to get a smaller group compared to a bigger group down for an event?
"let's go man, we might be able to see the chicks!"That could
one of the
many reasons they would give. If a person in RP were to say that...
"let's go man, we might be able to see the chicks!"
"what chicks? the chicks have grown up to be chickens! I know them lah, they all at block W1"
So, I don't know the real reason but this is just a theory after much thought and observation. Anyways, enough said. I think I had my point delivered. Its stay home Tuesday for me today. I decided to try my hands on vector art again. Did this in about 2-3 hours. When they said patience is part of the art, I thought they were kidding. I'm still working on it so yeah. Soon would be the best answer to give to a question about when it would be completed. Pretty obvious that its still in the working stages cause you don't see the other parts of the pictures and also the ears are a little weird in terms of colours. This is my first shot at vector art so give it some time. I'll try something else...
Miss the girlfriend...
