Just a note before I start ranting about my day, please refresh the page at least once before you go on reading cause sometimes the entry that I posted will not appear. Beats me on why it's like that but yeah, just do it.

The time was 6 am in the morning. Hardly took a wink the night before cause I was busy thinking about 'stuffs' that I shouldn't think about. Handphones had a couple of miss calls and messages that were received the night before but I was trying to avoid the handphone for some apparent reason. Messaged Mummy the address for the performance early in the morning. Was telling myself, she would probably be still sleeping and only read it after she wakes up an hour later, but I figure if I don't send it now, I would definitely forget to do so.

The phone rang 5 minutes after I sent out the message. Was asking myself, "Shit, did I send the wrong thing?" Rushed to see who it was, cause I hardly get morning calls from anyone except mum who will call from her room to wake me up. An unfamiliar number. Who could it be? I answered the phone and a girl was crying and screaming on the other side. I couldn't make out who she was and what she was saying. I wanted to put the phone down but I could hear her say my name a few times before sge started wailing again. I had to calm her down.

It was my ex. She got beaten up by her boyfriend and wanted me to help her. She wanted to meet me to talk about her problem. She was just too scared to do anything. Though I'm a sucker for girls who cry, I couldn't help her, not at a time like this. She begged me. Okay, so fine. I'm starting to feel like as though I'm running a hotline for abused kids and making sure they don't commit suicide after I hang up the phone on them. We agreed to meet up but for just awhile.

She came down from God knows where (think it was East Coast) to Jurong. I was running late. I had to be in school at 9 am. It was already 8 am. Saw her from a distance, she was bad, she was really in a bad condition. I swear I almost cried when I saw her. I felt so bad. It was painful to see her like that. She wanted me to call her boyfriend. I did. I think I made it worse. I think the whole meeting up with her was just a stupid idea. I knew her boyfriend, not well enough to call him a friend but enough to know he wasn't suited for her. If only it was a schooling day, I would have waited for that ass to come down to Jurong to let him have a piece of my mind.

I had to go. I had to be there for them. She pulled me. She cried more. I was scared to hell. She was doing it in public. People might think I was the one who was beating the crap out of her. I told her to just stay at home and wait for me till I come back. Told her to lock all the doors and windows. Made it sound like as though someone was on the trail to kill her. She let me off. She had to, I didn't have anything to do with her anymore. So I left...

Beats Encore had their 2nd outdoor performance at Woodlands Street 31. It was a complete mess when we reached cause the organisers wanted us to welcome the VIP and then.. that's it. Okay, so we train till we bruise our hands and fingers and receive endless screams from the mums to play for this event and what do we get? Be a group of people who do 'welcoming sessions?' It was like a dejavu, a really bad dejavu. I had to fight for what I thought was the initial plan and agreement. Screw what ever they think of me, I'm doing it for what I think we deserve after endless practice sessions. So we came up with a last minute idea. There wasn't a stage for us to play, so the void deck was the only option. That was good enough for me. That's what I hate about external organisers. They always want something from you but they never think of the shit we have to go through to get what they want us to do.

The whole experince? It was fun. Pure fun. I had to engage the kids to play with us. Kids are just fun to have around. They loosen up the tension and they are definitely fun to watch. We did a few rounds of the two set pieces and jammed our way through. Told the Babies to go eat while I had my share of fun with the real Babies. Played the 'call and respond' thing with the kids and they were really good. There was this kid call Syafiq which was really good. He had a sense of rhythm in him. I gave him the whistle and thought him how to 'control' the babies. Left them alone to see what he could do. The Babies said that he was like the smaller version of me cause he was busy asking them to keep quiet and starting all over again. Am I really like that? Haha. There were other smaller version of the other Babies but it was all in the name of a good laugh.

Went back to school to get the drums back in the room. Had my 'forever long' short debrief with the Babies and they went their seperate ways. Stayed back for a while to take my official break and just laze around the room hitting the drums occasionally. Life is just a bliss. I'll have to go off soon. Anyone up for a free masssage?

She smiled. He smiled back. Now we all smile. Accept what you know you can't get...
